Division Overview

Robert C.G. Martin, II, M.D., F.A.C.S.

The Division of Surgical Oncology consists of seven faculty members, four administrative secretaries, and a Clinical Trials office composed of eight research coordinators. The Division is highly focused on clinical surgical oncologic care with significant emphasis on breast cancer, melanoma, sarcoma, GI tumors including liver (hepatic) tumors, pancreatic cancer, colon cancer, and endocrine tumors including thyroid cancer, parathyroid disease, adrenal neoplasms, and pancreatic islet cell tumors. The faculty members of the Division all have excellent national and international reputations and are committed to state-of-the-art care.

In addition, the Division has an approved two-year Surgical Oncology Fellowship and currently accepts one candidate per year.

Research, including Clinical Trials, is vital to the mission of this Division and each faculty member has both research interests and participates in clinical trial programs that help to assure that our patients will have access to the care they need.
