Metastatic Cancer to the Liver

Many cancers spread (metastasize) to the liver. The most common is colorectal cancer. By definition, if a cancer has spread to the liver, it is an advanced cancer. Treatment of metastatic cancer to the liver requires a team approach that involves experienced liver surgeons who understand not only how to do the surgery, but also have a deep understanding of the biology of the tumor, and have the input and support from the medical and radiation oncologists.
